Intermodal Transportation Facility (itf) West
Market: Aviation
Owner: Los Angeles World Airports (LAWA)
Delivery method: Design-Build
Project Details: The ITF-West is LAX’s new approximately 4,300 stall parking structure, which will be located between Westchester Parkway and 96th Street. The facility will provide drop-off/pick-up locations and short- and long-term parking options. The four-story parking structure is the first component of the $5.5 billion LAMP program to be completed, opening in 2021. It will feature meet & greet space, valet parking, the potential for up to 5,000 square feet of concession space, Wi-Fi, and direct connection to an APM station. The 1.7 million square foot facility will also house LAWA’s Security & Badging Office to a central location.
Scope of work:
• Quality Program Management support
Success Story: A1MI was engaged to help the contractor achieve approval for their testing matrix. After several attempts by the contractor to work with LAWA to write a successful plan, it was suggested that the contractor engage A1MI to assist with this process. The A1MI team was engaged and had a new testing plan and matrix written and submitted to the contractor within a week. LAWA returned only three minor comments, which were resolved within a day, and the plan was approved, allowing construction to continue.
